Post-Grad Life...

So I graduated. Yep, i have a college degree. I have a degree in one of the most difficult subjects that one can study. And i am patiently waiting for it to come in the mail, so that is might actually seem real! So how is my post-grad life going? So good. I have done nothing but get ready for the mish. It has been an interesting process: trying to find cute mission appropriate attire, try to pick only TWO, TWOOOO pair of shoes (that was HARD! i love my shoes...), buying a bike (weird). But i'm basically done with all of it. Now i just sit for four weeks and TRY to relax while i am biding my time. It should be good. I AM excited to go, but i'm kind of starting to get nervous. I am excited for the amazing opportunites that i am going to have in the next 18months, and for the people i'm going to meet and the opportunity to be able to grow closer to my Savior. So....i'm a bit bored, but trying to stay productive. I did laundry today, went for a jog, checked my email....yes my life is exciting! I hope that i will have the opportunity to keep my blog going so that i can share my experiences with you! It just depends on the amount of time i have once a week to write emails to the fam, and write on here!

Ok. so i know i am 24. i know that i am about to obtain a Bachelor's in Music. So why do i love boy bands so much? You got me. The music is technically not amazing or new, but something about them just makes me happy. So, introducing a new favorite of mine.....V-FACTORY! (yeah, lame name, but awesome music!) I have recieved my mission call! I recieved it on Nov. 5th, the day after my birthday! I have been called to serve in the Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission. I report to the MTC Feb.10th! I am really excited. I know some might want to hear the story, so here it goes:

I decided pretty swiftly that i wanted/need to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The day after i decided to go, i go the swine flu, so that gave me a LOT of free time. I got my papers done in FIVE days (which it ususally takes like two months to do...I'm just awesome that way) I got my call a week and a half later. A bunch of friends came over, and my sister's family and i web cammed with the parents so they could see me open it. Everyone told me that i COULD NOT read ahead! And i said, "I'll try my hardest not too, but i'm not making any promises!" And i did read aheadn, WHOOPS! I read it and i couldn't speeak. I became emotional and had an instant confirmation that that is where the Lord needed me. So i choked out the words, and there you go! I think i cried for the next two hours whenever i told anyone! The following are some pictures from me opening it....I am all red and splotchy from the tears, so excuse the mess! if you want my mission address, let me know and i will get it to you!

Yeah, i know, crazy right? I decided about two weeks ago to serve and my papers have been in for about a week! I still have not gotten my head wrapped around this idea AT ALL! my mind is being blown! I will let everyone know where i am going when i get my call. I know i will not get it this week, but hopefully next week!

Hey, i stink at this whole blogging thing. But a quick update:

I'm back in rexburg! Back to school, hopefully my last semester! I wish i had like some cool story, but my life is not that exciting. Just school, church, and work.

My roommates this semester are AMAZING!!! I love them to pieces! we already have a lot of fun together. My roommates are Tiff (from montana and has the most amazing laugh ever!), Mallory (from texas, who cracks me up!!), and Jennie (also from texas who is so super sweet and makes the best brownies ever!!). All three of them are returned missionaries, so i'm the odd ball in this situation. It's nice that we are all the same age and that we all are really chill and have our own schedules. Some of our favorite past times (so far) include watching A LOT of TV, playing crazy nines (OH MY GOSH) and eating a lot.

I think this semester is going to be a good one to end on!

I am Home!! it is nice to be where there is green trees, humidity, chick-fil-a, and people with Jesus signs in their yard. I forgot how AWESOME the south is. I have just been working at the office since i've been home. Mom and dad are in Switzerland for their 30th Anniversary, so i have had the house to myself this past week. And let me tell you....I AM BORED! Wherever i move to after i graduate, i am going to have to live where people my age are! I need some interaction! i think i have been bugging all my friends that are in other states because i am so bored. Luckily, tomorrow night i am going to see one of my good friends from high school who i haven't seen in like three years!! I am so excited, she is super cute.

Oh yeah....if there is anyone that wants to give me a free plane ticket to Richmond, VA, i will gladly accept! I am in dyer need to see my Britni and meet all these boys she keeps talking about!!

I MISS MY GIRLS LIKE CRAZY!!!! i am going through major withdrawls! It has not even been a week and i am going out of my mind with out my ladies! I have no idea how i am going to last the rest of the 6 1/2 weeks and then i will be sweetly reunited with Tiff (which is going to be amazing, i have a feeling) but not with BRIT! what the crap am i going to do with out her?? I think there was not a day that went by that i did not spend with her this past semester. WHY WERE WE NOT FRIENDS LAST SEMESTER? Oh the cruelities of life. Curse you facebook, CURSE YOU! So my LOVELY friend britni introduced me to the tetris application on facebook. I was thinking, "Oh cool, tetris. What an amazing game. Maybe i'll try it." It was the worst decision of my life, because for the rest of my life, all i will be doing is playing that dag-gone game of freakin tetris. so i am going to try to talk my self out of it. Here is the reasons it is BAD to play tetris:

1. They show your score compared to your "friends". I am really competitive. So OF COURSE i have to beat everyone.

2. It sucks you completely in for FOUR HOURS. That's right i played tetris for FOUR straight hours. Sad

3. Consequently because of reason #2, i now have carpel tunnel. For real, it is killing me to type this.

4. Every time you do not beat your own personal score, the screen flashes "Great Game!" hence at that point you want to chuck your computer at the wall, hence having to buy a new computer, hence becoming poor. So TETRIS=BEING POOR

I hate tetris. Tetris is lame. Who needs to play tetris? hmmmm, i have nothing to do at 1:45am.....I think i'll go play some tetris.

So maybe i am a 15?? This is sad

Ok. Give me a break here. Just because i'm 23 does not mean that i can not enjoy the occassional barely legal boy band, right? Well too bad. Here is my new obsession! It is the band that is no longer together called NLT. Here is how i discovered them:

I was watching the Pilot of the BEST NEW SHOW called GLEE and i was curious if i had seen any of the characters in anything else. so i went on my new favorite webstie, imdb.com (internation movie database, I KNOW, AMAZING) and looked their past entertainment histories. I looked up Kevin Mchale who plays Artie (the kid in the wheelchair) and it said something along these lines:

"Fun Fact: Kevin is a member of the band NLT"

And i was like, hmmmm let's look that up.

AND THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!! I can not believe i had no idea about them and WHY in the world no one else has! and the sad part is, they are no longer togther! I think they need to have a reunion concert ASAP! and you'll never guess.....ARTIE IS A FREAKIN HOTTIE! so here you go world, enjoy and love as much as i do.

Feeling the inspiration

Ok. So i have just realized how LAME my blog actually is!! i have been sitting here with my roommate, future roommates, and bff, britni and their blogs are awesome and amazing and witty and enjoyable to read! i was sitting there thinking, WTF??? how come i am the lamest blogger in the cyber world?? I can be occasionally witty and awesome and amazing and enjoyable, no? YES I CAN! So from now on i am going to write until my little heart's content and try to be more dilligent in my posting!

Ok so what should i write about...? that is the question. Maybe that is why i never write about anything because my life is so STINKIN boring! For real! do you want to know what i did today? Class, then work, then laundry at ash's house, then SYTYCD, then i tie-dyed a t-shirt while i should have been doing homework. Seriously, that is how my day ususally goes. Nothing excting. And tomorrow will consist of class, enrichment, and homework. so sad, so sad.

Here is something i will write about:

I am moving to Richmond, Virgina in January after i graduate. Why you may ask? becasue that is where all the young, single, hot, lds, med school students are, that's why!! My friend Britni is from there and apparently, there is where i can find me a husband! So i have no idea what i am going to do in richmond, or if i will be able to find any job remotely in my field, but heck, i'm 23! forget about a career! it's time for me to find me a husband that will buy me lots of things. Hence, why i am moving to Richmond. My mother thinks it is a wonderful idea.

My New Hair

So, here is a really bad picture of my new haircut! My mom, sister, and I all went and got our hair done a little over a week ago. i had been growing my hair out for like three years and just recently, i have been thinking about going short once again....My mom, sister, and her sister-in-law erica, totally talked me into chopping it off! So i did and this is the end result. i took this picture with my dinky cell phone, since i don't have a camera, so sorry for the poor picture. I was a little shocked for the first couple of days, especailly when i washed it, but i love it. it is super cute and it can get REALLY curly, which is how i prefer it!

So Here i go! Back to the Burg! it's crazy. i can not believe that i start school again in a week! this summer and fall have flown by so fast! I am going to miss Tennessee A LOT! i'm going to miss my parents and the WARM weather and my little trips to nashville! Oh and being able to see almost every UT game...But i'm excited to get back into school and GET DONE! i'm a bit nervous as well. Hopefully The next year will fly by and and this time next year i'll be a college graduate!!

Last week was my birthday! it was actually a pretty chill day. i worked, voted, and went out to eat at Dumplins (aka the best restaurant EVER) with my parents. I got an ipod, and i think it is the best invention in the whole world.

This past weekend, i met my friend Sharaya in nashville to have a birthday weekend extravaganza! it was so fun. we SHOPPED AND SHOPPED!! i got some really cute outfits. we had some adventures. We went into a FREAKIN scary piggly wiggly (sharaya's idea) and we got to experience taco night with some of the nashville YSA's. I'm glad i got to go and see her! i miss her like crazy and it was nice to hang out with people my age (which rarely happens while i'm in jackson).

As i reflect as i am a year old, nothing too exciting happened this past year. It was pretty chill. I got to experience the UT life, and i have worked more than i have ever worked in my life! All in all, i think i did a lot of personal growing and have truly discovered who i am. So hopefully my 23rd year will be just as sucessful!

2. What kind of car did you drive?
The best car EVER! a 1998 toyota corolla, black with a cd player!was awesome. then when i went to college my little bro ran that thing into the ground! it barely lasted til he left on his mission. i still compare all of my cars to that one....

3. What was your most embarrassing moment in high school?
I don't know....i'm sure i've blocked in from my memory. my whole sophomore year was pretty embarrasing

4. Were you a party animal?
That i was NOT!! i was either at home, school, church, or the dance studio. i didn't have time to be social, so i pretended to party at stake activities! mainly i hung out with my best friend marissa on saturday nights.

5. Were you considered a flirt?
At school....NO. At church stuff....most deffinately

6. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
Choir all the way! I did choir from 8th grade, to present. I did all the honor choirs and competitions and stuff...and i still do...eek

7. Were you a nerd?
Yes?? but not in the book smart type of nerd. i thought i was hilarious, when really i was just annoying

8. Were you on any varsity teams?
No. I danced my butt off in highschool, so that was my "sport". I seriously lived at the studio. It was fun and i so miss being a part of the company.

9. Did you ever get suspended/expelled?
No, but i did get detention for skipping an optional assembly. yes, i said OPTIONAL
....Still bitter....

1o. Can you still sing the fight song?
I don't think we had a fight song. I can still sing the alma mater though

11. Who were your favorite teachers?
Uh.....good question. Madame King was always hilarious. I enjoyed Mrs. Clark because my class got away with EVERYTHING. we went out for breakfast like once a week in her class because she was our first period.

12. Where did you sit during lunch?
At the virgin table. no joke, that's what it was called, and we loved it.

13. School mascot?
Bruins! for those of you who don't know....it's a bear

14. Did you go to homecoming and with who?
I went to the homecoming football/basketball games, but i never stayed for the drunken brawl afterward. Also, homecoming wasn't like a big deal, prom was.

15. If you could go back and do it again, would you?
absolutely not

16. What do you remember most about graduation/
I remember everyone crying because they were sad to leave. I was about to cry out of knowing that i never had to go back to high school again! (as you may have notice, high school was not very fun for me...)

17. Where did you spend your senior skip day?
Technically, there was no such thing as senior skip day, but my class tried to enforce it. but i had a math test that i could not miss, and she said she would fail us if we didn't show up. So i got super good grades in all my classes that day cause i was like one of six that showed up. a lot of kids got ISS for it...and i got a 1oo on my test!

18. Were you in any clubs?
French club, key club....i think that's it

19. Have you gained weight since then?
duh..what kind of question is that?

20. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion?
I have no idea...still five years away. hopefully i'll be living somewhere exotic or something!

I can not wait for christmas when i can actually be able to spend time with my nephew and my sister and bro in law!! i have missed them terribly this past year and i am so excited that i get to spend all of next year with them....well at least until i annoy the snot out of them!

holy cow!!! who's not excited that fall is here and that means FOOTBALL!!! falls is for real my favorite season because everything awesome happens in the fall:
Football season, the beginning of Basketball season, The world series, thanksgiving, christmas, my birthday, and the election will be over!! yay for fall!

i am excited that the vols played their season opener on monday. they loss in over time, but hopefully we will be able to pick it up! next saturday we play against florida.....i don't know how that's going to go down. it's at home so hopefully we will have a bit of an advantage! I would just like to take a moment and thank my beautiful sister, ashley for motivating me to start running. About a week ago, she ran a half marathon (13.1 FREAKIN MILES!!! AND AFTER HAVING A BABY 7 MONTHS AGO!!! CRAZY!!!!!) and i decided that i could start running for a few minutes a day. so for the past week i've been an exercising feen!! so my summer has offically ended.....SAD!! efy is done, and i am back at work. i'm not going back to school to january so i get the privalege of staying in tennessee until then. i don't know if my parents are to thrilled to have me home til then. All i know is that i desperately need the money and i am so blessed to have parents that will let me live with them when i'm 23 to earn money.

in january, i'll go back to BYU-I where i will resume my music degree. i am actually super exctied to go back and get going so i can FINALLY get my bachelors! i can not imagine a day where there will be no such thing as going to class!

So my sister tagged me....so here are six random things about me:

1. I can wiggle my ears. It's true. I can wiggle my right one better than my left, but ask and i will show.

2. I love the disney channel. I can't get enough. I think that's a little sad because i am almost 23 and the number one channel i watch is the disney channel. Plus, i think hannah montana is HILARIOUS.

3. I secretly wish i went to cullinary school. I really would love to be a chef. I find it 100% interesting, and then i would like to work for Chef Duff from Charm City Cakes (Ace of Cakes on the Food Network). I think that would be my dream job.

4. i have ocd when it comes to food. i have to eat one thing at a time on my plate and if my food is touching, i can't eat the parts that are touching. Also, i have a major sharing issue when it comes to food. i'm very posesive of it.

5. my favorite part about my self are my legs. what can i say? i have really nice looking legs

6. my weakness is diet dr. pepper and white cheddar popcorn. if you give me that combo, i'll pretty much do anything for you.

so in about twelve days (but who's counting?) i get to jet off into the lovely midwest to be a camp counselor for five weeks. I AM SO EXCITED! i have a lot to do before then, but i am so ready to go it's not even funny. But for those of you who read this blog (aka ash, haha) i will definately try to keep up with all the fun pics i'm going to have from each week. maybe i'll have some fun videos as well....
